Plasmid Transient Protein Expression Service
Plasmid Transient Protein Expression Service
Transient transfection refers to the process of introducing a constructed plasmid into mammalian cells in a certain way, where the exogenous genes on the plasmid are not integrated into the cell's own genome. As cells grow and divide, foreign genes will gradually be lost. Plasmids can exist within cells for 3-4 days, during which time foreign genes of the plasmid undergo transcriptional translation within the cell, resulting in a very small amount of protein. The entire process of rapid transfection to obtain proteins is called transient transfection expression.
Mammalian cells have the function of protein folding and post-translational modification, and the obtained proteins have more natural activity. There are two ways for mammalian cells to produce proteins: transient transfection and stable transfection. The characteristic of transient transfection is short-term rapid expression, which meets the small amount preparation of proteins. Stable transfection can meet the needs of large-scale and long-term protein production by constructing stable cell lines.
